Liu Mingguo, Deputy Director for Agricultural Product Processing Bureau of Ministry of Agriculture, attended China International Leisure Development Forum and said, “Until the end of 2013, there are 150 Happy Farmhouses in China which can receive 900 million visitors each year. This kind of countryside tourism Project can drive profits of 290 million villages.” Since the reform and opening-up, China’s leisure agriculture experienced nascent stage, starting stage and comprehensive development stage. Especially since the beginning of the new century, China’s leisure agriculture grew vigorously. At present, there are four kinds of leisure agriculture, such as Happy Farmhouse, Folk Culture Village, Agriculture Garden and Leisure Farm. Practice indicates that leisure agriculture has become strategic emerging industry to promote the development of rural area. |
