Meituan Travel has recently launched domestic group travel service “Meituanzhuanxian.” The company will select quality suppliers and tour routes to provide high-quality tour products for its domestic travel users. The first series of 200 group tour itineraries will be made available by the end of 2017 in the top 50 cities that have had the highest volume of travel transactions on the booking platform.
To ensure the best travel experience for its users, the company said that it will arrange three-star or higher-rated hotels, but no shopping stops, on all its group tours. Each tour group will be assigned an independent tour guide with at least three-year experience and no major customer complaint, and a bus driver with at least five-year driving experience with no accident record. Ms. Jing Bian, head of the group tour unit, said that although Meituan has upgraded its service standard, the price will be at similar levels to its OTA peers. (Translated by Jerry) |
