About 98.03% or 11,266 of the 11,492 star-rated hotels registered in the management system of China National Tourism Administration provided data of their operation for the third quarter of 2017. All hotels in 42 major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hangzhou filed data, while the reporting rate of hotels in 48 of the 50 major tourist cities nationwide was over 90%. In Q3 2017, a total of 10,065 star-rated hotels passed the examination of provincial tourism administrations. Among those, 72 are one-star hotels, 1,839 two-star hotels, 4,908 three-star hotels, 2,425 four-star hotels and 821 five-star hotels. The 10,065 star-rated hotels generated total revenues of RMB 53.808 billion in the third quarter, of which F&B incomes constituted RMB 20.603 billion (38.29%) and guest room incomes RMB 26.242 billion, or 48.77%. The average room rate (ARR) of all star-rated hotels for Q3 was 340.25 yuan per room night. Average occupancy rate (AOR) was 60.58%, revenue per available room (RevPAR) was 206.12 yuan, and average operating income per room was 35,387 yuan.
