At least 6.5 China citizens will be spending their Lunar New Year holiday traveling overseas. According to China Tourism Academy and Ctrip, as of February 4 citizens from 200 cities have booked tours to over 68 countries. These tours, covering more than 700 cities worldwide, were booked through Ctrip, a Shanghai-based online travel agent. Each traveler is estimated to spend some RMB 9,500. According to Ctrip and China Tourism Academy, the top Asian travel destinations are Thailand, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam.
