Alibaba-backed hotel technology firm Shiji announced that it has acquired the shares of SnapShot’s founders to "increase commitment to SnapShot vision of a hospitality data platform".
Shiji acquired a majority stake in SnapShot in 2016, holding 69.07% of SnapShot's stock equity at the time.
SnapShot was founded by David Turnbull and Michael Heinze in 2012 and was invested by hotel research firm STR and Netherlands-based hotel chain CitizenM in 2013.
